Separate current use from spare stock
Gather the products currently on the basin edge, windowsill and bath rim. Keep the few used every day in the main group. Move unopened spares to a suitable dry storage place and check product labels for any temperature or moisture restrictions.
Remove empty containers and deal with items you no longer use. Keep medicines according to their own storage instructions, not automatically in a humid bathroom. A decorative basket should never replace secure storage where children or vulnerable people may access harmful products.
Choose a washable landing place
Select a container that fits the available surface without obstructing taps, ventilation or the door of a mirrored cabinet. It should be easy to lift with its usual contents. A removable tray beneath bottles can make small drips easier to spot.
Avoid tightly packing damp items together. Let washable containers dry after cleaning and inspect underneath them for trapped water. Check that bottle pumps can be used without pushing the whole basket towards the edge.
Keep the routine small
Put each item back after use and wipe up spills before they dry. When a product runs out, replace it from the spare supply rather than opening several alternatives. If the basket gradually takes over the surface, remove occasional-use items instead of choosing a larger container by default.
Before you call it done
- Only everyday products occupy the main basket.
- The container and the surface below can dry.
- Hazardous products remain appropriately secured.
Know the limit. Keep electrical items and charging equipment away from wet areas and follow their location and use instructions.
