Find the model-specific sequence
Locate the appliance model and use the manufacturer's official manual. Read the filter removal, cleaning and refitting section before opening the assembly. Follow the stated shutdown and cooling instructions, and work only when the machine is not running. Empty enough of the interior to see clearly. Photograph the seated filter arrangement if that helps you recognise its correct position later, without using the photograph as a substitute for the manual.
Handle the filter gently
Remove only the user-serviceable parts identified in the instructions. Inspect for trapped food and possible sharp fragments without pushing bare fingers into unseen spaces. Clean the filter with the permitted water temperature, brush and product, avoiding anything that could distort mesh or seals. Do not force a stiff release mechanism. Bosch's support guidance directs users to the appliance manual for model-specific help, which is important when similar machines use different fittings.
Refit before running the machine
Check that each part is clean, undamaged and locked into the position described by the manufacturer. A filter merely resting in its opening is not necessarily installed correctly. Replace racks and remove cleaning tools before closing the door. If the manual specifies a maintenance programme, use only the recommended procedure and product. Persistent poor drainage, leaks or an error message are separate problems; repeating the cleaning cycle does not prove that the machine is safe or repaired.
Before you call it done
- Use the exact model's filter instructions.
- Watch for sharp debris in the assembly.
- Confirm the filter is correctly locked in place.
Know the limit. Do not reach into pumps, remove fixed panels or operate the dishwasher without its required filter parts. Stop for leaks, damage or unresolved faults and seek service advice.
